UK Trains

Being the birthplace of the modern locomotive, the UK has a rich railroad history. A lot of the past is preserved in the plethora of tourist railroads like the Nene Valley Railway just up the road in Peterborough.

As for more modern stuff, well, it's not all that diverse. Although the UK has good passenger rail system with many different companies running trains, there isn't much in the way of difference in the rolling stock. For many of the trains, the only way to tell them apart is by their paint scheme. In the Huntingdon area, the most frequently seen trains are the Class 165 commuter trains operated by First Capital Connect (ex-WAGN) and Class 43 and Class 91 express trains operated by National Express (ex-GNER).

Pictures I've taken of various trains around the UK can be seen in the Trains section of my photo gallery.
